A dramatic addition to your wedding reception is a chocolate fountain. These flowing fountains allow your guests to use a fork, fondue style, and dip fruits and other treats into the chocolate.
Chocolate fountains normally range in size from 24″ to 52″ tall. These fountains can hold as much as 40 pounds of chocolate. You can normally rent the fountain, along with the chocolate, dippers and an attendant for $5-$8 per guest.
You can use milk chocolate, dark chocolate, white chocolate or even caramel.
So, what should you dip in the chocolate?
You can choose fruit cut into chunks, such as apples, bananas, cherries, kiwis, melons, oranges, pears, pineapple, raspberries or strawberries. You can also dip graham crackers, marshmallows, potato chips or pretzels.
Another alternative is cutting cakes and other sweets into squares for a real treat. Use angel food cake, brownies, cheesecake, ladyfingers, pound cake or any other type of sweet that you like.
Select anything you’d like for dipping. A wedding that I attended last summer, they used peanut butter balls! It was like unlimited Reese’s all night!

This is a great idea, we were going to do it at our wedding, but it didn’t fit into the budget. But do look at all the packages included in the chocolate fountain. I know there was a package deal that included an attendant there to keep the fountain clean and not all messy from all the little kiddies running by and dipping their fingers in! So think about all the little stuff, but it is a really cool idea.
