My fiance and I are getting ours tattooed next month He is an automotive painter and I am a veterinary technician, so neither of us are able to wear rings at work. Since he and I both have short names, we are just getting each other’s names on our ring fingers. And as for people who think a tattooed band is too permanent… Marriage is supposed to be permanent- and if you already have that kind of attitude about it- I’d rethink getting married. That’s why divorce rates are so high…

I’m not sure, about this. The way that marriages are today, I don’t think I like the idea, everyone feels that their marriage will last forever but only time will tell and what about, the second wife/husband, I truly don’t think that he/she will like the idea of his/her spouse having that type of reminder on a piece of their body that they would look at everyday of their life for the rest of their life. Nice gesture but I don’t care for it.

I have such severe eczema on my hands that I can’t wear any rings for longer than a few days. I’ve been considering for a while the option of tattooing a wedding band.

We talked about approximating the design of my engagement ring, but I think I’m leaning toward simplicity, because it’s a high traffic area, and more likely to fade quickly. Maybe a simple line. It’s a symbol, it doesn’t need to be intricate (and can’t really, on that small scale).

I think it’s a neat idea, but it is permanent. Make sure.

We’ve spoke about this to a couple of different tattoo artists and have been advised against this. For some reason tattoos dont take too well, or at least stay clear too long on hands or fingers, they go that nasty grey blur quickly. We still love the idea of the roman numerals so now im thinking about having it along the outside of my foot and hubby is having it across the top of his back.

My husband actually asked me last night what I thought about him getting a ring tattooed on his ring finger. I’m considering the possibility of doing it as well. He lost his first ring and the second is uncomfortable, he has large fingers (size 12 1/2)and the rings bother him at work also.

This definitely wouldn’t be an option for me! I guess I don’t ever have to take my ring off, but even if I did… nah.
