Everyone knows that comic books (manga) and anime are very popular in Japan with some of the characters becoming celebrity icons. 
Now a Japanese Man wants to take things to the next level. Taichi Takashita has launched an online petition trying to get one million signatures to present to the government in order to get a law passed on marriages betwen people and cartoon characters.
In the first week, he has gathered just over a thousand signatures.
“”I am no longer interested in three dimensions - I would even like to become a resident of the two-dimensional world,” he wrote.
“However, that seems impossible with present-day technology. Therefore, at the very least, would it be possible to legally authorise marriage with a two-dimensional character?”
Call me crazy, but I think marriage should be left to the humans.
