Many people are taking their weddings outdoors to the beach. However, various other outdoor locations can also make the perfect backdrop for a wedding.
Here are some terrific ideas for planning an outdoor wedding.
Lush wineries and orchards are beautiful and can be an ideal spot for an outdoor wedding. Smaller wineries will oftentimes allow you to have your wedding onsite for a very nominal fee. And of course, you will be able to have great wine at the reception.
Most major cities are home to a botanical garden. They also usually have an wedding coordinator on staff who can help your arrange everything from the ceremony setup to the menu plan.
Since they are public, you can normally plan a wedding at a city park very affordably. You will probably have to pay a small permit fee. Call the city parks and recreation department for details.
Keep in mind when planning an outdoor wedding that one thing will be out of your control – the weather. Try to plan your wedding in a season that isn’t generally too rainy or too warm. However, you will still need to have a backup plan for coverage in case a storm rolls in.
Even if the weather is sunny, you may consider setting up large white tents to provide wedding guests with a comfortable area to get out of the sun. You should also supply your guests with sunblock and bug spray. Buy paper hand fans and sit them next to every place setting.
